2010/2011 Budget Introduces Provisions for Access Ramps

Included in the 2010/2011 budget is a provision benefitting people with disabilities, making the construction of access ramps (for devices such as wheelchairs) more affordable.

The clauses of the budget dictate that a company that builds a ramp to provide access to people with disabilities is eligible to claim 100% depreciation for a ramp costing up to 250,000 PKR each.

NOWPDP appreciates the efforts to increase the ability for organisations to include people with disabilities, and looks forward to further progressive initiatives in the future.
