NOWPDP holds pilot sessions of teacher training program in Islamabad
After the successful launch of Master Trainers Program in Karachi, Sindh, NOWPDP had envisioned to upscale the project to the province of Punjab by first running a pilot study in Islamabad to gauge the response of our target audience, i.e. teachers of special or/and inclusive schools, present there. For this purpose, NOWPDP had partnered with Naseem Jaffer, CEO of the Fund for Inclusion of People with Disabilities, and Samina Aziz, two ladies who have worked diligently and zealously on making this vision into an achievable reality.
Two sessions were conducted on the 17th and 18th of April, 2010 at Fountainhead School, Islamabad. The trainings were conducted by two of our Master Trainers, Aysha S. Jamal and Sarwat Zehra, a product of the current running program. The training was dissipated to a total of 37 teachers, who have had participated from an eclectic mix of schools all over Islamabad.
We would like to give out our special thanks to Mrs. Shahista Zafar, the principal of Fountainhead School, who had gone out of her way to provide us with a venue to conduct the trainings and made sure that all arrangements were made for their smooth functioning. On top of that, we would like to thank Jaffer Brothers for providing us with the I.T. equipment and expertise, and Papa Salas and Kitchen Cuisine Grill, for providing us with their delicious food for both the days.
