NOWPDP Conducts its Third Training on ‘Sight Reading’.
NOWPDP conducted its third workshop in Karachi on June 12th, 2010 for Arakan Muslim English Primary & Secondary School (Regd.), which is located in Landhi, Karachi. The session was conducted for all of its teachers, which came up to 22 in total. As per before, the session conducted was on ‘Sight Reading’ a continuation of the Teacher Training Program, based on the concept of Training of Trainers (ToT), embarked in January, 2010 for the province of Sindh. The teachers were not only taught the course material on Sight Reading but were given the required time to practise the technique so that they can easily administer it within their own schools.
The session was conducted in the premise of Aga Khan University – Institute of Educational Development. A new batch of our 10 previously trained Master Trainers conducted the training and received a very satisfying response from the audience. These trainers included Saadia Tariq, Tehmina Waqas and Yasmeen Muhammad. This was the second batch of Master Trainers produced by the program. Such workshops tie into NOWPDP’s broader vision of building capacity of individuals working in the sector of disabilities and providing them with resources that otherwise would be hard and expensive to receive.
