Tuesday, 3 Jul 2018: The NOWPDP team finally completed its Disability Inclusion Initiative with Abu Dawood to facilitate the latter to become more inclusive and accessible for persons with disabilities.
Therefore, NOWPDP did accessibility audits on six locations across Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. In order to enhance awareness of disabilities among the staff, sensitization sessions took place, which over 70 individuals took part in. Also, as found imperative, NOWPDP also gave general policy recommendations, which in turn were added to an action plan for sustainability for the company with inclusion.
NOWPDP is pleased to say that a cohort of individuals were employed throughout this project and now work at this particular organization. Moreover, while only Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad were the cities where Abu Dawood initially had to hire persons with disabilities; the Multan chapter also appreciated and accepted this initiative and hired competent persons with disabilities.
