NOWPDP Recruitment Services

Goal

Gaining employment is a challenge for People with Disabilities (PWDs) across the globe. In Pakistan, despite the 2 percent quota, this hinders the steps towards their economic and social independence. NOWPDP realizes the gap, and works towards bridging it through “NOWPDP Recruitment Services” (NRS). The goal of this project is to:

  • Facilitate the PWDs with employment opportunities
  • Connect organizations, who hire PWDs, with potential candidates
  • Raise awareness amongst organizations about potential talent pool amongst PWDs

4 simple steps

NOWPDP’s role is to provide a platform for the organizations to find their potential candidates, and vice versa, more specifically:

  1. Select Job roles: NOWPDP and organizations agree on available job roles, hence establishing a system for job placements
  2. Shortlist Candidates: NOWPDP looks for target candidates and further shortlists them according to requirement
  3. Interviews and Commencement: Organize interviews, and then selected candidates commence employment
  4. Training: Sensitize the current employees of the organization about PWDs and suggest improvements to make the workplace accessible such as installation of wheelchair ramps, etc.

Generating employment opportunities for PWDs has significant impact not only on PWDs but also on their families and in turn the society; due to increased self-confidence, self-reliance, and increased social acceptance. Since the program’s inception, a total of 174 PWDs have been placed according to their abilities, 50+ companies have been contacted, and 550+ CVs have been forwarded to potential employers.
