Accessible Cycle Design Challenge session held at FAST NUCES Karachi

Friday, 22nd January 2016: NOWPDP team, consisting of representatives from The Rickshaw Project and External Engagement team, attended a session organized by FAST NUCES Karachi to engage students about the Accessible Cycle Design Challenge. Amin Amir Andani, Manager – The Rickshaw Project, elaborated on the challenge and shared inspirational stories, related to mobility of persons with disabilities, with the students and faculty members from the Electrical Engineering department.

Students interacted with the NOWPDP team and were enthusiastic to send designs that incorporate all design elements especially the element of reducing human effort required to travel on a tricycle. As a token of appreciation, Dr. Asim-Ur-Rehman Khan – Head of Department and Professor Electrical Engineering, presented NOWPDP team with a shield. NOWPDP team also presented Shujaan Akhwand – our ambassador from FAST NUCES, with a miniature rickshaw (designed by our employees with disabilities) and a certificate of appreciation for his efforts.
