Sunday, 16th April 2017: Accessibility remains an elusive goal for us as a country, essentially marginalizing 1 out of every 7 people in our midst. To raise awareness and provide recommendations for addressing this issue, and thereby including persons with disabilities, Institute of Architects Pakistan’s Karachi chapter (IAP) and NOWPDP – a disability inclusion initiative – have been working tirelessly across Karachi to make effective architectural changes at major companies, for the last several years.
To further enhance the scope of this collaboration, NOWPDP and IAP penned an agreement to take this partnership from a city wide level to a national scale and expand the work to Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Quetta and other major cities.
The agreement was signed at the conclusion of the recent IAPEX Conference at the Expo Center. NOWPDP was represented by its President – Mr. Amin Hashwani; and IAP was represented by IAP National President – Ar. Ali Zafar Qazi.
