NOWPDP attends FESF's event to launch book titled 'Life Skills Training for the Deaf in PSL'

Family Education Services Foundation (FESF) organized a seminar to commemorate the launch of their book and project “Life Skills Training for the Deaf in PSL”. The successful pilot was in collaboration with Rutgers-WPF and Visionary Foundation, Pakistan.

Omair Ahmad, Director of NOWPDP, addressed the requirements about youth life skills. Rashid Khan of Visionary Foundation Pakistan highlighted the achievements of their organization to impart this education. The Country Director of Rutgers – WPF, Qadeer Baig spoke about increasing awareness for Life Skills training, and relayed the stark reality for those people who are marginalized by society. Secretary Special Education, Sindh, Mr Aleem Memon, emphasized on the importance of the role of government and provisions it can make; followed by Mr. Mumtaz Ali Shah, Chairman Anti-Corruption Establishment Sindh, who touched on the need for more public and private partnerships to increase awareness.

The event was concluded by Richard Geary, Executive Director (FESF), who launched the book on Life Skills Training in PSL and a short documentary to showcase the journey.
