NOWPDP attends launch of I Am Karachi Dialogues and Awards

Wednesday, 7th September 2016: NOWPDP team attended the launch of ‘I Am Karachi’s’ two new initiatives, ‘I Am Karachi’ Dialogues and ‘I Am Karachi’ Awards, at the Institute of Business Administration’s Jahangir Siddiqui Auditorium at its City Campus.

“We need to take forward the culture of hope, pride and ownership and revive arts, culture, sports and dialogue via the platform of ‘I Am Karachi. Let us make the change” – ‘I Am Karachi’ President Mr. Jameel Yusuf remarked in his opening address.

Mr. Ghazi Salahuddin – renowned journalist and writer, educational specialists Ms. Baela Raza Jamil and Mr. Sibtain Naqvi and journalist Mr. Wusatullah Khan were also in attendance for the first Dialogue session. The conclusion of the dialogue was that Karachi symbolizes the discourse of Pakistan and we have to work towards a better Karachi. “Karachi doesn’t easily give up its charm. Challenges means opportunities”, remarked Sibtain Naqvi.

The closing note was delivered by Mr. Saad Amanullah Khan who established that these dialogues are the first of many and involving the youth and public, will hopefully lead to a peaceful and prosperous exchange of ideas. Media personnel, I Am Karachi Consortium members and 2015 Awards recipients and the youth were also at the event to commemorate the city-wide movement.
