NOWPDP attends NEDUET Urban Day

NOWPDP was invited by NEDUET Urban Infrastructure Department to celebrate the ‘Urban Day’. Zaynab Abedin, Assistant – External Engagement, and Khadija Rehman, Program Assistant – The Rickshaw Project represented NOWPDP and were warmly welcomed as chief guests of the event along with others such as the Deputy DIG Traffic and NED Faculty Members and Alumni.

Zaynab introduced NOWPDP, showed Vishal Kumar’s video (employee with disability at NOWPDP) and elaborated on disability statistics and challenges, whereas Khadija briefly spoke about the Accessible Cycle Design Challenge. Apart from the segment allocated to NOWPDP, speakers elaborated on the importance of urban development and how engineering students are a valuable resource to this field. Results of an intra-university challenge were also announced, where a great number of females won prizes.

Tokens of appreciation were presented to all chief guests towards the end, after which a lunch and networking session followed. The session was overwhelming as students were in awe of NOWPDP; they wanted to know how they could be part of it or contribute towards the cause.
