NOWPDP attends Provincial Consultation session by WHO & partners on 'Assistive Technology'

Tuesday 23rd August 2016: Sarah Ejaz and Adeel Iqbal, Assistants – Yaqeeen, represented NOWPDP at the Provincial Consultation session organized by Ministry of NHRSC, Provincial Health Departments and World Health Organization (WHO).

The objective of the meeting was to develop a provincial-level priority Assistive Products List (APL); according to need and available resources. The forum also served as a excellent platform to identify potential partners & pathways and to formulate an action plan for the availability of APL in a sustainable and scalable manner across Pakistan. Similar sessions will be conducted in all other provinces and a national APL will be formulated by amalgamating the feedback from all the respective meetings.

Dr. Maryam Mallick from WHO, is leading this project in Pakistan. More than 30 participants attended the meeting including policy makers, implementers, social activists, civil society representatives, end users, academics, and funders.
