NOWPDP conducts disability inclusion training at Pakistan Village Development Program (PVDP), Madyan

24-25th October 2016: Pakistan Village Development Program (PVDP) is undertaking a gender based violence (GBV) project in Swat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Irish Charity organization – Trocaire. As part of its collaboration with Trocaire, NOWPDP, through Program Yaqeeen, conducted a two-day disability inclusion training with the staff of PVDP Madyan Office in Bahrain, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the course of the training administered by Faizan Polani and Karim Navroz Ali from NOWPDP, the participants discussed the high prevalence of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the areas in which they operate, the need to make disability a priority area, correlation between disability and GBV and the need to form linkages and raise awareness. Action steps were then identified by the staff of PVDP Madyan Office to make their organization and its programmatic activities inclusive of PWDs.
