NOWPDP conducts disability inclusion training with Green Rural Development Organization (GRDO), Hyderabad

17th August 2016: Green Rural Development Organization (GRDO) is currently undertaking a livelihood project in Umerkot District with Irish charity organization – Trocaire. As part of the follow up to the Disability Inclusion Training conducted on 30 March 2016, which was attended by two representatives of GRDO, NOWPDP conducted a one-day orientation with the staff of GRDO at their office in Hyderabad, through Program Yaqeeen.

Faizan Polani and Nabil Shaukat from NOWPDP provided the GRDO team with an understanding of disability issues in Pakistan as well as elements related to disability such as Policy and Legislation, Accessibility, Workplace Inclusion and communication etiquette to support them in making an action plan for disability inclusion for their current and future programmatic activities, particularly pertaining to livelihood. The participants showed keen interest in knowing more about disability inclusion and came up with well thought-out ideas for disability inclusion and mainstreaming.
