Talk at IBA on Media and Disability: Pity – Heroism Dichotomy to discuss the portrayal of persons with disabilities in Media

8th December, 2018: Hosted by the Social Sciences Club at IBA, NOWPDP held a talk on campus on the portrayal of persons with disabilities in the media. As an important tool of relaying information and influencing mass public mood, it is imperative that the opinions we project on the media are done in a facilitative and tolerant manner so as not to incur unintentional damages.

The panelists for this particular event included Zarrar Khuhro, Adeel Hussain, Ali Gul Pir, Amna Raheel, Munim Kazi and Yumna Ikram; all of whom spoke on the matter from their personal experiences.

Talks like this are not only stimulating but mutually beneficial for all involved. It is wonderful to see young people especially taking an interest on such issues and speaking out where necessary.
