NOWPDP Reaches Out to All Universities

NOWPDP initiated its campaign to reach out to all public & private universities in Pakistan in order to ensure implementation of HEC’s policy for students with disabilities.

Starting with Karachi, NOWPDP wrote letters to 38 universities and met with the Vice Chancellors or senior management of 7, including:  Hamdard University, SZABIST, DHA-Suffa, KASBIT, DOW,  NEDUET, and JSMU.

The purpose of this was to ensure inclusion and accessibility at universities, which will result in economic empowerment of people with disabilities. This inclusion could be put under the ambit of both attitudinal and infrastructural for people with disabilities have to battle all of these together.

Speaking to educational personnel, NOWPDP reiterated the need for inclusion and for the safeguarding and bolstering of students with disabilities’ right to receiving an accessible education.
