Yaqeeen conducts Disability Inclusion Training at HBL

Thursday, 10th November 2016: NOWPDP’s Disability Consulting program Yaqeeen conducted a ‘Disability Inclusion Training’ with 20 HBL employees belonging to various HR and Operations functions from Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore at HBL Annexe in Karachi.

The training was geared at promoting inclusion and disability confidence amongst the employees through instilling disability awareness across multiple functions and creating disability-friendly communication channels. An essential objective of this activity was also to equip the team at HBL with the right tools and knowledge to help them determine adequate provisions for persons with disabilities at the workplace. Furthermore, the training also addressed concerns regarding hiring of persons with disabilities and how they can be overcome through a strong policy framework that supports it.

The training was structured to impart information about various aspects to understand disability, job setting requirements, reasonable accommodations at the workplace, resource/information sharing and appropriate etiquette. This will be beneficial in development of disability inclusive HR policies and identification of functional positions for recruitment of persons with disabilities.

The employees were enthusiastic and participated keenly in the session, making it an interactive one. NOWPDP in collaboration with HBL looks forward to enhanced engagement of people with disabilities in the workforce.
