At the core tenet of NOWPDP lies our Yaqeeen program; an effort to convert our industries to be inclusive to persons with disabilities.
In the previous year alone we have conducted these sessions at various companies, each receiving a similar proposal to execute; ‘Being Able,’ at Khaadi, ‘Empowering Abilities,’ at K- Electric and ‘Ba Ikhtiar Pakistan,’ at U Bank. In depth sessions have also been conducted at Liberty Textile Mills and Abu Dawood among others- and have received a very enthusiastic response. From an astounding 32 sessions that we conducted, we have managed to train over 530 individuals.
These sensitization sessions are usually followed by Master Trainings, held to give the companies enough independence to be able to be able to function inclusively on their own and continue to train staff on inclusion, as well as make sensitization a norm without needing our help continuously.
